Amsterdam
Amsterdam! for four days this past weekend i was in Amsterdam with Britt and about five other friends from the program we're in. the city is really cool lookin with all the canals that run through it. We toured the Heineken factory which was one of the first Heineken factories ever (first or second i forget). A tour with some super fresh beer. Also saw Anne Frank's annex from when she was hiding from the nazis. It was crazy to think about what happened in these same rooms and the incredibly different mood that encompassed the room at that time; with original posters and things like that on the walls. It made me want to read the book. On top of that we passed some time in some coffee shops and ate a lot of great food (pancakes, chocolate-covered waffles...). I tried some hashish which i thought was pretty cool. and really convenient cause you can buy everything pre-rolled and everything. O ya and i cant forget a big part of the trip. We stayed pretty much in the heart of the red light district and that was something different for sure. Me and my buddies came to the consensus that we are not in Amsterdam too many times in our lives so 'when in amsterdam' and we went to a sex show. haha. crazy. . . I will say that i was expecting something a little more crazy, but the town was very calm, laid-back, almost quiet. the only downside was that it was cold and raining and windy for most of the weekend. But good fun. O ya and also went to a bar with live music that was great. they were a cover band that played kings of leon, coldplay, maroon five, sting.
